The PR2 walking trail, “To Nossa Senhora da Saúde via the Old Paths,” begins next to the Parish Church of São Pedro de Castelões and aims to retrace the old pilgrimage route to the Shrine of Nossa Senhora da Saúde.After leaving the Mother Church, it heads toward the village of Côvo and then to Mourio, where it crosses the EN328.In the village of Cartim, it crosses the EN328 again and takes a narrow path, initially cobblestone, that climbs to the village of Areal beneath the canopy of grapevines. Upon reaching a junction of cobblestone paths, continue along the one that ascends. At the end of this climb, at the fork, take the path on the right and, after passing through a grove of oak and chestnut trees, you will reach the “old road” to Nossa Senhora da Saúde. It is a wide path that leaves no room for error.
