Description
This route connects two villages—Barcos and Santa Leocádia. Barcos is
a very old village in Tabuaço, boasting a rich architectural heritage
and recently designated as a “Wine-Growing Village.” Santa Leocádia is
a beautiful, traditional village overlooking the Tedo River. Between the two
there is a significant elevation gain, but it’s well worth the effort because the landscape is
magnificent and the natural surroundings are bountiful. Mediterranean forest, streams, traditional fields,
and the Douro vineyards are some of the pieces of this natural puzzle
that we will explore, walking along some beautiful trails of ancient
cobblestone paths.
