The “Mata do Cerejal” Hiking Trail begins next to the Chapels of São Mateus and Nossa Senhora do “Ó,” classified as sites of religious interest, and then passes through the main points of interest in the town of Alcanadas. The initial part of the trail runs through the heart of the Mata do Cerejal, a natural area rich in both animal and plant species (part of the Natura 2000 Network).
