Description
In days gone by, at this spot on the river, the “caneiro”—a traditional fishing method—was used to catch fish. The trap was made of reeds and oleander sticks near the mill’s dam that once stood there. The mill was dismantled in the 1990s. Today, all that remains at the site are the ruins of the old canal mill and the memories of fishermen who long for the days when the river provided their livelihood.
