We begin the route at the Chapel of Our Lady of Fátima, in Termas de Alcafache; we walk 200 meters toward Tibaldinho, turn right, and head up to Casal Mendo. We cross the CM 1436, pass a small wayside shrine on the left, and continue toward Casal Sandinho.In this village, we’ll find the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, a fountain, and an old pillory. We’ll climb up to the EM 595, turn right, and after 100 meters, turn right again. We now descend along the Roman road toward Quinta da Marinha and Aldeia de Carvalho. At the entrance to Aldeia de Carvalho, we come to the small Chapel of Santa Cruz, where we must turn right and continue through vegetable gardens and farm fields until we reach Casal Mendo.As we wind through narrow streets, we’ll come across the beautiful Chapel of São Frutuoso on the other side of the main road.There, we turn right and head toward Tibaldinho until we reach the junction with the path that brought us from Termas de Alcafache, which we then retrace in the opposite direction for 100 meters.We’ll have two options for returning to our starting point: either turn right and retrace the route we took at the beginning of our hike, or cut left and head down the old Roman road. This latter option allows us to discover new places. We then turn left and descend for 1 km until we reach the cluster of houses that are part of the Termas de Alcafache settlement. The Chapel of Our Lady of Fátima, where we began our journey, appears before us.
