The Minas do Círio trail winds through the area surrounding Valezim, along the Valezim stream valley. In the village, the architectural heritage is diverse, with highlights including the picturesque Chapel of São Domingos, the Castelo Branco family manor, the pillory, and the Church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário, which dates back to medieval times.

The route covers an area marked by striking landscape contrasts, dominated by pine and chestnut forests, terraced farmland, and riparian habitats.

In the lower part of the valley, accessible via a forest trail, lie the Círio mines, a former tin and tungsten mining complex whose operations date back to World War II.
