The route passes through the towns of Olhalvo, Pocariça, and Penafirme da Mata; it is suitable for all ages and requires a moderate level of physical fitness. On paved, dirt, or gravel roads, it winds through predominantly agricultural areas, mainly vineyards and orchards, making contact with the friendly local people very likely and highly recommended. Part of the route crosses the Surraipas forest, with very pleasant terrain and almost constant shade.
