If you start in Soito, be sure to explore the streets and schist houses of this village, which has been restoring most of its homes to their traditional style, making it one of the most beautiful villages in the municipality.In Soito, you can choose the detour that will take you to Loural (a village with a tourist accommodation project), cutting the total distance of the route by about half, or continue straight on toward Ponte do Colmeal.Heading toward Ponte do Colmeal, descend to the river, where you can take the opportunity to cool off in the fresh, clear waters of the Ceira River near the information panel and the shelter. Then continue to Ponte do Colmeal, where you should take the opportunity to take a dip in the fresh, clear waters of the Ceira River. After a swim, begin the hike toward the village of Carvalhal do Sapo. During the climb, you’ll have a superb view of the village of Colmeal. Upon arriving in Carvalhal do Sapo, explore the village, discovering its streets and schist houses. Then follow the trail toward Aldeia Velha. At the entrance to the village, there is a landscape information panel where you can see the main peaks of central Portugal: Buçaco, Caramulo, Estrela, and Açor. Aldeia Velha is the highest village in the municipality of Góis, offering wonderful views of the Açor mountain ranges and unparalleled fresh air. Explore the village, discovering its streets and schist houses. Further on, you can choose the detour that will take you from Loural (a village with a tourist accommodation project) to Soito, cutting the total distance of the route by about half, or continue straight on toward Malhada.Heading toward Malhada, you’ll come across Quinta do Ribeiro de Além and Quinta das Águias—mountain farms where large herds of goats once grazed. In Malhada, take the time to explore the village, then head down toward the village of Carrimá.Head up toward the village of Soito, where this route through the Serra do Açor ends.
