This short route begins on Avenida de São Cristóvão in Soito, in the park next to the medical clinic. It crosses the village along this avenue, which is its main thoroughfare, before heading south into the farmland. This is one of the most important rural areas in the municipality, with medium-sized plots used mainly for rain-fed crops, but also featuring chestnut groves and pastures, with cattle raising being a very important activity in the region. We cross the Ribeira de Alfaiates, near the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Granja, in a more forested area with large oak trees. Then, the route passes through “Vilares,” an area of beautiful farmland that has long been disputed between Soito and Alfaiates. We approach the Alfaiates reservoir via a narrow trail. Along its banks, we can observe the local birdlife. Before reaching Alfaiates, we pass through its beautiful valley, which benefits from the irrigation project of the Alfaiates Dam. The climb to the center of this village, rich in historical heritage, follows an old path and then Rua Direita, passing by the Church of the Misericórdia, the pillory, and ending at the castle.
