Description

The Short Trail “Trilho do Senhor da Boa Morte” begins and ends at the information panel located near the Parish Council of the Union of Parishes of Castanheiro do Norte and Ribalonga. The trail crosses the village and heads toward the Olhos do Tua Viewpoint, where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the valley and the Tua River. From this spot, the trail descends toward the Tua River, entering the Castanheiro-Ribalonga micro-reserve, where you can see groves of wild chestnut trees. On the climb up to the village of Tralhariz, you can already see groves of cork oak and holm oak, along with juniper and an old oven used to dry figs. From Tralhariz, the trail continues toward the Ermida do Souto, where you can visit the parish church dedicated to São Braz, the chapel, and the Srº da Boa Morte viewpoint. On the descent back to the starting point, you can see two springs, known locally as the “D’Aqui” spring and the “D’Além” spring.
